Number of Securities Accounts in 2024
Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartościowych (KDPW) publishes monthly data on the number of securities accounts maintained by banks and brokerage firms operating on the Polish market.
According to the most recent numbers, banks and brokerage firms – KDPW participants maintained 1,969,689 securities accounts at the end of December 2024. This represents an increase of more than 52,000 accounts month on month.
The number of accounts increased by more than 243,000 year on year in 2024 (vs. 1,726,292 accounts at the end of 2023).
The number of brokerage accounts exceeded 1.8 million for the first time in July 2024. Financial institutions maintained more than 1.9 million brokerage accounts at the end of November.
Banks and brokerage firms report to KDPW on a monthly basis on the number of securities accounts they maintain. Reports are published monthly on the KDPW Group Data Portal at https://data.kdpw.pl/csd/f/number_securities_accounts.
